Seasonal Volunteer Opportunities
Holiday Giving Program
Help fulfill the holiday wishes of Colorado VNA patients for clothes, food, appliances, toiletries, bedding and more. The organization offers a program through which clients of the Colorado Visiting Nurse Association are “adopted” by anonymous donors to receive gifts.
If you have financial resources to share this season, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or use the form on the right column to get involved. Our Volunteer Department Manager will provide you with a client’s holiday wish list. All volunteers need to do is shop, wrap and deliver the gifts to our main office by the date specified. Gifts will get delivered via volunteer drivers three days before the holiday. In 2014, over 100 people benefited from gifts volunteers put together.
Thanksgiving Food Drive (November)
Annually in November, Colorado VNA gathers food from the community and staff to create 50+ food bags for families in need. Volunteers help assemble the bags and deliver them.
Flu Shot Clinics (September to December)
Volunteers play an important role in seasonal flu clinics, October – December. Clinic volunteers are trained in community and workplace clinic processes, including paperwork and customer relations. They assist nurses by distributing and explaining consent forms and insurance options to clients. Clinic locations and times vary and volunteer hours will be scheduled according to the volunteer’s availability.
Help with fundraisers, fleece blanket day, chili cook-off fundraiser, and any other special events throughout the year.
